We have signed Dane McCullough on a loan until the end of the season from Burnley. Dane has come in due to suspensions in defence and the 19-year-old will gain valuable experience at the Project Solar Stadium and made his debut in the 1-1 draw at Matlock Town on Saturday.
Having initially joined the Clarets from Northern Irish side Portadown in August 2020, McCullough extended his scholarship for a third season in the summer of 2022.
McCullough, who has also represented Northern Ireland at various youth levels, playing alongside former Tiger, Paddy Lane in the Northern Ireland set up. He has also played first-team football for Portadown making his debut aged just 15.
He said ”When the opportunity to come here on loan came up, it really appealed to me. I loved my time at Portadown getting experience and I’m enjoying the experience at Burnley but now it’s time to play mens football again”
The club have also extended the loan of Will Russ, from Fleetwood Town, until the end of the season, Will has come in and scored five goals in seven matches in his month with us.
Manager Nick Spooner said ” We’re delighted to extend Will’s loan he’s been a great signing for us, and we look forward to welcoming him back into the squad against Nantwich Town”
